It depends on the job you need done. Here’s a guide to help you decide.
When a company in the GotoMarket Lab asks us which sales intelligence platform they should sign up for, the list of options keeps getting longer: Apollo, Lusha, ZoomInfo, Cognism, Kaspr, RocketReach…
This has always been an interesting space. It started out as hyper-segmented databases, and it’s quickly turning into something far more powerful.
And my answer is the classic consultant’s answer: it depends. What job do you need done?
Because there are four different jobs, and each tool is stronger at some than at others:
- Finding the companies and people that match your ideal customer profile.
- Getting their contact details: email, phone, or a way in through LinkedIn.
- Handling outreach and follow-up: messages, calls and sequences.
- Bringing the contacts you already have in your CRM up to date.
Once you know which of the four matter most to you, comparing prices and credits gets a lot simpler.
That’s exactly the lens I’ve used to compare eight tools in a practical, straight-to-the-point reference guide: what each one brings to the table, what it costs, and which one I’d try first depending on your priority. You’ll find the comparison tables, the pricing and my recommendation for each scenario.
P.S. If you have thousands of contacts piling up in your CRM, start with the last section of the guide, the one on bringing your database up to date. In our experience, Apollo automatically matches 60 to 70% of records.
